Book Description

In the Star Harbor series kick-off, celebrity chef Sebastian Grayson meets his match in café owner Lexie Meyers. A weekend home with his brothers turns into a slow-burn challenge— and when sparks fly, it’s suddenly hotter in the bedroom than in the kitchen.

My Review

Food and romance—always a winning combo. The chemistry between Lexie and Sebastian is the draw here: Barrett builds the tension well and the payoff feels earned. I also liked the dash of suspense, which keeps the plot from being only about the heat.

At times, I felt dropped into the middle of side characters’ arcs (Jimmy, Emma, and others) without quite enough background, which created a “did I miss a prequel?” sensation. The ending also ties up fast; I almost wished we’d cut a chapter earlier, right after the HEA lands.

Still, the vibe is cozy-coastal with a chefy edge, and the central romance balances lust with respect and kindness. I’d happily read more in Star Harbor.

Rating: ★★★½☆ (3.5/5)
