Hi, I'm Kat! I'm a passionate book reviewer and the voice behind Forever Book Lover, a book blog I've been running since 2011. My friends call me Kat, and I've been a lifelong reader with over 14 years of book blogging experience.

My Reading Journey

Born and raised in New England, I've lived in California and now call the Carolinas home for the past thirteen years. I always need to have a beach nearby—something about not being landlocked! The first book I ever remember reading was Black Beauty. I took this book with me on summer vacation, and from the first moment I opened the cover, I knew I'd found a lifelong companion.

I started this blog in 2011 after a friend on Goodreads suggested it, saying "You have great reviews, you should think about blogging." My honest answer? "What's a blog?" After researching and exploring other book bloggers, I thought "I can do this!" And here we are, over a decade later.

My Reading Philosophy

Books are very much like people in so many ways. Inside the pages they speak of lives and hold secrets. They keep you company, they become a sanctuary. Sometimes you love them, sometimes you hate them. They can leave you with words or phrases that give you chills, lingering a bit longer in your thoughts. If you're lucky, you find many that become your best friends—those you pick up again and again. And some can change your life forever.

Behind the Scenes

I maintain a full-time corporate job, but my "me time" is dedicated to reading—sometimes into the wee hours of the morning. Thank goodness for cover-up makeup to hide the dark circles! I average over 100 books per year and have reviewed hundreds of titles since starting this blog.

I believe in honest, thoughtful reviews that help readers make informed decisions about their next great read. Whether you're looking for a steamy historical romance, a tear-jerking contemporary, or your next book club pick, I'm here to guide you to stories worth your time.

Review Policy & Expertise

My commitment to readers: Every review reflects my genuine opinion. I never rate a book higher because I received it for free or know the author personally. My goal is to help fellow readers discover their next favorite book while giving authors honest feedback on their work.

Review criteria include: Plot development, character growth, writing quality, emotional impact, and overall reading experience. I rate books on a 5-star scale and always explain my reasoning.
