I think book reviews should be long enough to be helpful and short enough to keep readers engaged.
Happy Friday! It’s time for another Book Blogger Hop hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer! Coffee Addicted Writer! Each week, we all answer the same bookish question and then hop around to see everyone’s responses.
This week's Book Blogger Hop question made me realize that I don't really fall into either extreme when it comes to writing reviews.
Book Blogger Hop Question
Do you prefer writing long, detailed reviews or quick, punchy ones?

My Answer
I prefer reviews that fall somewhere in the middle.
I want to give readers enough information to understand the mood of the book, what worked for me, and who I think might enjoy it, but I don't feel the need to recap the entire story.
Some books naturally inspire longer reviews, especially if they have complex characters, strong emotional themes, or leave me with a lot to think about. Other books can be summed up in a few paragraphs because the reading experience is more straightforward.
What matters most to me isn't the length—it's whether the review is helpful. If a reader finishes my review with a better idea of whether the book might be right for them, then I've accomplished what I set out to do.
So while I appreciate both styles, my preference is a thoughtful review that gets to the point without leaving out the details that matter.
