Some books do not need to be about music to make you hear a soundtrack in your head.
Happy Friday! It’s time for another Book Blogger Hop hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer! Each week, we all answer the same bookish question and then hop around to see everyone’s responses.
This week's Book Blogger Hop question made me think less about books that are actually about music and more about books that have a strong mood or character presence.
Book Blogger Hop Question
Which book would make a killer soundtrack, and how would that soundtrack sound?

My Answer
This question was harder than I expected because so many books have their own unique vibe. Instead of choosing a book about music, I thought about a book whose mood practically comes with its own soundtrack.
I chose Heartbeat by Sharon Sala.
The story follows a paramedic carrying the weight of his past while protecting the people he loves. It has moments of suspense, hope, healing, and romance, and I could almost hear the music playing as I read.
The soundtrack in my mind would be a blend of Southern rock, bluesy rock, and country rock. Think soulful guitar, rich vocals, songs about resilience, and music that feels both rugged and heartfelt. As the relationship grows, I'd weave in a few beautiful country ballads to capture the quieter, more emotional moments.
If I were putting together the soundtrack, it might include songs like:
- Simple Man – Lynyrd Skynyrd
- Can't You See – The Marshall Tucker Band
- Midnight Rider – The Allman Brothers Band
- Tennessee Whiskey – Chris Stapleton
- I Cross My Heart – George Strait
- The Dance – Garth Brooks
To me, the best soundtrack isn't just a collection of songs—it becomes another character in the story. It should reflect the emotions on the page, building tension during the suspenseful moments and softening as the characters begin to heal and trust one another.
If a soundtrack could make me feel everything this book did, I'd definitely hit play.
