Have you seen my TBR? I may need another lifetime.
Welcome back to another Book Blogger Hop hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer ! — where each week, we chat about books, reading habits, and all the little cozy things that come with being a book lover.
This week's question made me laugh at first, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized my answer is actually pretty simple.
Book Blogger Hop Question
As a book lover, what's your biggest fear?

My Answer
My biggest fear as a book lover? Honestly, it's that I'll never have enough time to read all the books I still want to discover.
I'm certainly not worried about running out of books. My TBR makes that very clear! Every time I discover a new author, find an older romance I'd somehow missed, or read another blogger's recommendation, another book gets added to the list.
The problem is that the list grows much faster than I can possibly read it.
There are authors whose entire backlists I'd love to explore, favorite authors whose new releases automatically catch my attention, and older books I keep rediscovering and wondering, How did I miss this one?
And then there are all the books I don't even know about yet. That's probably the part I love most about reading—there is always another story waiting to be discovered.
I suppose I have a couple of other bookish fears too. I don't like thinking about favorite authors retiring before I'm ready to say goodbye to their stories, and I'd hate to see genuinely written books pushed aside by mass-produced AI-generated ones.
But if I'm choosing just one fear, it's definitely time. There will always be another book I want to read and never quite enough hours to read them all.
Then again, having more wonderful books waiting than I could ever finish isn't the worst problem a book lover could have. ❤️

Could you ever finish your TBR, or does it grow faster than you can read?
If someone gave you an extra lifetime just for reading, what books would you finally get to?

Happy Reading!
That’s a fair concern. I’m quite certain my TBR list is already longer than I can finish in my lifetime. So I’ve decided I have a second book related hobby - collecting titles I’d like to read. It’s similar to when I was quilter, had more fabric than I could use, and decided fabric collection was a legitimate hobby. Somehow, it made me feel better.
ReplyDeleteI love that—collecting books we want to read as a separate hobby makes me feel much better about my ever-growing TBR! I may have to adopt that philosophy too; thanks for stopping by, and Happy Reading!
DeleteAn excellent point. I hadn't thought of that. There are so many great books waiting to be discovered!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
