Book Blurb:
Lady Alanna McNabb is bound by duty to her
family, who insist she must marry a gentleman of wealth and title. When she
meets the man of her dreams, she knows it's much too late, but her heart is no
longer hers.
Laird Iain MacGillivray is on his way to
propose to another woman when he discovers Alanna half-frozen in the snow and
barely alive. She isn't his to love, yet she's everything he's ever wanted.
As Christmas comes closer, the snow
thickens, and the magic grows stronger. Alanna and Iain must choose between desire
and duty, love and obligation.
But it's Christmas in the Highlands, and
there are bound to be a few surprises.

My Review:
When I first started reading Once Upon a Highland Christmas, I had a feeling it was going to be something special—and I was right. Even before I finished it, the story had already won me over with its heart, humor, and a bit of holiday magic.
Now that I’ve come back to reflect fully, I can confidently say this is one of the most charming historical holiday romances I’ve read. Lecia Cornwall blends warmth, wit, and just a touch of Scottish enchantment in a way that feels timeless. This story is a perfect reminder that love doesn’t always arrive in the way we expect—but it always finds a way.
The plot is delightfully whimsical: a love spell gone awry, a snowstorm that traps strangers together, and a cast of meddling but well-meaning relatives determined to see romance bloom. It’s everything I love in a cozy Christmas romance—tender moments, fate-driven twists, and characters you can’t help but root for.
The heroine’s vulnerability and the hero’s steady strength create a beautiful contrast, and their growing connection feels both sweet and swoony. There’s also a refreshing sense of playfulness, which adds levity without losing the emotional core of the story. It’s the kind of book you curl up with by a fire, wrapped in a blanket and lost in another time.
I’ve been a fan of Lecia Cornwall since her debut Lord of Temptation. I may have even been one of the first to shout about her talent across the romance-reading corners of the internet! Her ability to craft stories that feel both magical and grounded is what keeps me coming back to her books.
Final Thoughts:
If you’re looking for a feel-good romance with historical flair and just the right touch of holiday cheer, Once Upon a Highland Christmas should be at the top of your list. Whether you're discovering it for the first time or revisiting it like I did, it’s a story that wraps around your heart like a tartan scarf on a cold winter night.
📚 A Highland holiday gem that proves love always arrives—sometimes with a little help from fate.
Lecia Cornwall lives and writes in Calgary, Canada, amid the beautiful foothills of the Canadian Rockies, with four cats, two teenagers, a crazy chocolate Lab, and one very patient husband. She is hard at work on her next book.
