My Review
This final installment felt bittersweet. I’ve grown to love the Alliance team, and saying goodbye was hard—but Catherine Bybee gave fans the closure they deserve.
Gabriella's story broke my heart. After being drugged and manipulated by a fake husband, she’s understandably guarded. Hunter, her unlikely match, starts off as arrogant and controlling—but Bybee peels back the layers with care, giving us a deeper man full of love and protectiveness.
The emotional growth between them is stunning. What begins as a forced arrangement slowly turns into something passionate, real, and beautifully messy. I especially appreciated the mystery element that gave their story high stakes and tension beyond just the romance.
There were moments I teared up, laughed, and swooned—exactly what I want from a romance series finale. Seeing favorite characters reappear one last time gave the book an emotionally satisfying send-off. I only wish we had more time with them!
