Final Book Blogger Hop of the month (and almost the year)! We’re talking reading totals — the fun, slightly nosy question all book people secretly love. Here’s this week’s prompt:

This Week’s Prompt:

How many books did you read in 2025?
(submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

My Answer:

As of today, I’m at 50 books for 2025. πŸŽ‰ With a few days still left in the year, I may add one or two more, but this number feels like a solid snapshot of my reading year — especially with all the holiday novellas and comfort reads I tend to save for December.

I don’t chase huge numbers; I read around work, life, and blogging. Some years are 40, some years are 70 — this year landed in the middle, which I’m happy with. What matters more to me is: did I enjoy what I read, did I discover new authors, and did I keep my blog active? (Yes, yes, and yes.)

Your turn — how many did you read?

  1. I like that: "I don’t chase huge numbers; I read around work, life, and blogging...What matters more to me is: did I enjoy what I read, did I discover new authors, and did I keep my blog active? (Yes, yes, and yes.)"

In retirement, I have lots of time to do whatever I want, and what I mostly want is to read and write. I read too fast, but it seems to be something that I can't control---I don't know why. So I end up racing through my books, not slowly like I wish I could, but I do also end up reading a ridiculously large number of books.

    1. I had a lot of review requests in the early years of my blogging and I wanted to be able to honor their requests. The review requests have slowed down and I am reading more for enjoyment these days. Happy Reading!
