My Kindle queue is the real nightstand… and it’s overflowing in the best way.

I used to ask, “What’s on your nightstand?”—but let’s be real, most of my reading lives on my Kindle Paperwhite or in the Libby app these days. My digital queue is a mix of impulse buys, reader recommendations, the occasional Kindle Unlimited discovery, and books that have been patiently waiting for the perfect reading mood.

I’m also terrible about letting my Kindle queue grow faster than I can read it. Every time I open the store just to “browse,” something new sneaks onto the list.
So today I’m sharing what’s currently sitting in my eBook queue and what I’m most excited to start next. And yes… I’m absolutely hoping you’ll tell me what’s in yours too.

Romance Books in My Kindle Queue
A Peek Inside My Current Kindle TBR
Clearly I’ve been in a romance-reading mood lately. This is just one page of what’s currently waiting on my Kindle.
These are the books currently sitting closest to the top of my queue—organized by how I’m actually choosing books lately (aka: excitement, mood, and a little curiosity).
Currently excited to start
The first book sitting at the top of my Kindle queue is the next installment in a series I recently started.
-
A Whisper in the Shadows by Darcy BurkeAfter finishing A Whisper and a Curse last week, I’m eager to continue the Raven & Wren series. This next installment features a fake marriage storyline—always one of my favorite tropes.
If you missed it, you can read my review here: A Whisper and a Curse .
Also in My NetGalley Queue
-
The Lake House, Book 2 of 2: Firefly Summer
by Lori Foster
This one caught my attention immediately. Lori Foster has a way of writing small-town settings that feel warm and grounded, so I’m curious to see where this story goes. -
Lead Me Home: A Novel (Queen Anne Hill)
by Catherine Bybee
Another upcoming release I’m excited about. If you’ve heard early buzz about this one, let me know!
Waiting for the right mood
-
The Coastal Book Club (Magnolia Shore #1)
by Fiona Baker
A coastal story about friendship, fresh starts, and the power of books to bring people together. This one feels perfect for a slower reading weekend when I’m in the mood for a warm, community-centered story set by the water.
My Wildcard Pick (Not Romance… But Still in My Queue)
-
The Widowmaker: A Black Harbor Novel
by Hannah Morrissey
A gritty mystery I grabbed on Libby. I like slipping a darker read in between romances—especially when I’m in the mood for a quiet evening and a twisty plot.
Still Sitting in My Queue
You know those books you really do want to read… but somehow they keep getting pushed aside? That’s this little corner of my Kindle queue.
- Love Comes in Small Packages by Lori Foster & Maisey Yates
- Our Extraordinary Summer by Lori Wilde
- The Forgotten Book Club by Kate Storey
☕ Mood reader or planner?
Are you the kind of reader who plans your next three books in advance… or do you choose based on vibes? My eBook queue is a constant mix of impulse buys, recommendations, and titles I fully intended to read immediately.
Personally, I often end up choosing based on mood. Some days I want a light small-town romance, and other days I’m craving something more emotional or dramatic.
If you also pick books based on mood, you might enjoy browsing my Discover Romance Reviews by Mood page, where I’ve organized my reviews by the type of story you might be in the mood for.
Tell me your style in the comments: planner, mood reader, or a little bit of both?
