His duty is to fulfill her every desire…

Brandr the Far‑Traveled has seen the world. His bed skills are legendary, his sword sings death, and he can call fire from thin air. No one ever thought he could be enslaved through trickery and forced to wear the iron collar of a thrall—least of all him.

Until all she desires is him…

Katla the Black isn’t just named for her dark, silky hair. Her temper is fierce and her heart as icy as the frozen North. But inch by delicious inch, Brandr means to make her melt.

My Thoughts

Wow—my first Viking romance! Very steamy and surprisingly tender. Who knew these warriors could be such passionate, romantic heroes? Brandr is a formidable fighter with a hint of magic (he can conjure fire), but he’s poisoned, captured, and collared before the story even lets you catch your breath.

Katla is a strong‑minded widow running her own farmstead. She wants to be wanted for herself—not for the land she brings to a match. She dreams of a soul‑deep bond where lovers can hear each other’s thoughts. Her first husband? Let’s just say… not it. When her brothers present her with a “gift” (Brandr, the thrall—and son of the man blamed for her husband’s death), Katla is out for revenge even as she’s pushed toward a marriage of convenience.

I did wish Brandr fought a bit harder against captivity—his acceptance feels a touch anticlimactic for a warrior. And despite the title/cover, the fire element reads more like a spice than a true paranormal thread. The biggest sparks are in their chemistry. Still, the romance absolutely works: as Katla must choose between three suitors, she chooses Brandr knowing freedom will tempt him away once the collar comes off. The telepathic heart‑bond pays off beautifully, and their HEA feels earned.

“All I know is while I draw breath, all I am is yours.”

Connie Mason and Mia Marlowe deliver kidnapping, torture, revenge, passion, and a sweeping love story. Add it to your TBR if you enjoy fierce heroines, honorable warriors, and heat with heart.

My Rating:

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I got a chill from the quote. Juicy!!
I love that quote, despite odds they were each others true love, they experienced that bond where they were everything to each other.
