What happens when a reluctant hero firefighter ends up rescuing a billionaire’s daughter—twice? Sparks fly, hearts race, and danger closes in during this fun and flirty romance from Jennifer Bernard.
When fireman Fred Breen rescues a bachelorette party trapped by a falling crane, he becomes an instant media hero. But all Fred can think about is the intriguing brunette he carried to safety—Rachel Kessler, the daughter of a tech billionaire and survivor of a childhood kidnapping. As their paths cross again, Fred is assigned as her bodyguard, and the emotional stakes heat up faster than a five-alarm fire.
My Review
This is book six in the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel series, but I jumped in without reading the earlier books—and still thoroughly enjoyed it. Fred is not your typical alpha firefighter. He’s thoughtful, loyal, and just nerdy enough to make him incredibly endearing. He proves that a nice guy can still be seriously swoon-worthy.
Rachel is smart, resourceful, and guarded, which makes her a great contrast to Fred’s steady presence. Their connection builds steadily, with chemistry, charm, and just enough vulnerability to keep it emotionally engaging.
I loved the pacing, the dialogue, and the balance between steamy romance and suspenseful action. It’s lighthearted in places but also heartfelt. Jennifer Bernard nails that tone perfectly.
Final Thoughts
If you’re craving a firefighter romance that’s equal parts feel-good and fiery, The Night Belongs to Firemen should definitely be on your TBR. It’s sexy, fast-paced, and surprisingly sweet—Fred Breen is the book boyfriend you didn’t know you needed.
