About the Book

All of London knows the Duke of Rutherford as wealthy, titled... and wildly improper. His rakish ways are the stuff of gossip columns. So why on earth has he suddenly hired a governess?

When Miss Lily Russell steps into the Duke’s scandalously handsome home, she knows she’s stepped right into trouble. He’s no doting papa — he’s temptation personified. But Lily is determined to do her job... and not lose her heart in the process.

As for the Duke, finding out he has a daughter was a shock. Now, hiring a governess feels like the first step toward becoming the kind of man worthy of fatherhood... and maybe even love. But Lily has secrets of her own, and when the truth surfaces, it might change everything.

My Thoughts

This was my first time reading Megan Frampton, and I absolutely loved her voice. Her writing is clever, lighthearted, and full of humor, with just the right amount of swoon.

Marcus, the Duke of Rutherford, is your classic rake — until a surprise shows up on his doorstep in the form of his young daughter. Watching him shift from carefree rogue to protective father was both hilarious and heartwarming. And Lily? She’s a wonderful heroine. Smart, determined, and kind, with a quiet strength I adored.

The banter between Marcus and Lily had me smiling the entire time. Their chemistry is electric, but the sweetness of their found-family dynamic really made this story shine.

Final Thoughts:
If you enjoy historical romance with humor, heart, and a rogue determined to do better, this book will charm you from beginning to end. Highly recommend for anyone who loves witty repartee, a redeemable duke, and a satisfying happily-ever-after. 💕

  1. I'm with the reviewer! I liked that Marcus did a turnabout and took Rose into his home, meaningfully intending to change his bad behaviors of the past. I'll have to get to know Lily a bit better before forming an opinion about her. But I know this much, Lily is a gutsy woman to answer the ad for a governess when it's not something she'd done before. I think this plot is going to be very interesting. :-) jdh2690@gmail.com
