Book Description
Her heart belongs to her pen, until a marriage of convenience rewrites her story.
Lady Fortuity Abarough has always known her place in Society, the overlooked Broadmere sister with a sharp mind and a love of writing. She’s content to remain unmarried if it means keeping her independence and one day publishing a novel under her own name. But her brother, the new Duke of Broadmere, is determined to see all seven of his sisters married, for love, no less, so he can finally claim his full inheritance.
Fortuity’s closest friend, Viscount Matthew Ravenglass, is the one man she’s secretly loved for years. When he discovers her secret dream of becoming an author, he offers his help in navigating the publishing world… and unwittingly deepens her feelings for him.
But everything changes when a compromising situation forces them into a hasty engagement. Fortuity agrees to a marriage in name only, her heart can’t bear a union built on duty rather than affection. After all, Matthew made it clear he would never marry after being jilted years ago.
Now bound by circumstance, Fortuity and Matthew must confront buried emotions, lingering heartbreak, and an inconvenient love may have been right in front of them all along.
A charming Regency romance for readers who believe in the power of pen, passion, and a happily ever after written in the stars.

My Review
Without giving too much away, the story follows Lady Fortuity Abarough—a writer with dreams bigger than Society allows. Her brother, Chance, insists all the Broadmere sisters marry for love before he can inherit, but when her closest friend, Matthew Ravenglass, discovers her secret passion for writing, everything changes...
Lady Fortuity Abarough loves her independence, her writing, and her dream of publishing a novel under her own name. Her brother, Chance—the new Duke of Broadmere—has other plans: all seven sisters must marry for love before he can claim his inheritance. When her closest friend, Matthew Ravenglass, discovers her secret passion for writing, he offers to help her connect with a publisher. But when a scheming cousin orchestrates a scandal, Fortuity and Matthew find themselves forced into marriage—and forced to confront the feelings they’ve long tried to deny.
This second installment strikes the perfect balance between cozy and heartfelt. Fortuity and Matthew’s friendship gives the story an easy warmth—two people who have always understood one another but were too cautious to believe it could be love. I enjoyed watching Matthew’s quiet devotion grow into bold affection, especially once he realized his heart had always belonged to Fortuity.
Their dynamic reminded me of classic Regency friendships-turned-romances—filled with longing glances, polite restraint, and one accidental scandal that changes everything. While a few sections moved slowly, the emotional payoff made it worthwhile. By the final chapters, when the sisters and their brother Chance team up with Matthew to remove the last obstacle to the couple’s happiness, it felt like a family victory as much as a romantic one.
Character Spotlight
Fortuity Abarough – The “plain” sister with the richest inner world. Her voice as a writer mirrors her heart—steadfast, clever, and quietly brave. She doesn’t chase grand gestures; she writes them.
Viscount Matthew Ravenglass – A man scarred by heartbreak but capable of immense gentleness. His journey is one of rediscovering trust—not just in love, but in himself. When he calls Fortuity his “little wren,” it’s with the reverence of a man who finally understands home.

Why You’ll Love This Book
If you adore marriage-of-convenience stories that turn into genuine partnerships, witty banter that gives way to heartfelt honesty, and a hero who will wait as long as it takes to earn forgiveness, this one’s for you. The Broadmere family dynamic adds depth, laughter, and that warm-hearted chaos Maeve Greyson writes so well.
