This week’s question was an easy one for me because there is one genre I return to more than any other.

Book Blogger Hop Question
If you had to stick to one genre forever, which would you choose and why?

My Answer
If I had to choose only one genre to read forever, it would be romance. That answer probably won’t surprise anyone who has spent much time here at Forever Book Lover.
I love that romance can give me so many different kinds of stories while still offering the emotional connection and satisfying ending I look for. I can visit a charming small town, solve a mystery, step into another time period, explore a fantasy world, or follow characters through family struggles and second chances—all while enjoying a love story at the heart of the book.
Romance also gives me plenty of variety depending on my mood. Sometimes I want something light, cozy, and comforting. Other times, I want a story with deeper emotions, complicated characters, suspense, or a slow-burn relationship that takes time to develop.
Most of all, I appreciate the hope found in romance. The characters may face heartbreak, misunderstandings, loss, or difficult choices along the way, but I can usually trust that the story is leading toward a hopeful and emotionally satisfying conclusion.
I would certainly miss mysteries, historical fiction, and other genres I enjoy, but if I could only keep one, romance would give me the widest range of stories while still delivering the emotional experience that keeps me reading.

I went for Mystery as there are lots of offshoots. I like a variety of things to read, but as Mystery tends to be where I lean that is the main genre I would choose 😂

Mystery is a great choice for the same reason I chose Romance—there are so many different offshoots that you’d still get plenty of variety. I don’t think I could ever stick to just one type of story either! Happy Reading!
DeleteHehe, I think several people have done the same thing -- picked a genre they love which can have many subgenres that also take in the other genres they're interested in sometimes.

Exactly! If we have to choose just one, we might as well pick something broad enough to sneak all our other favorites in too. That was definitely part of my strategy with Romance! Happy Reading!
